change

When people are ready to, they change. They never do it before then, and sometimes they die before they get around to it. You can’t make them change if they don’t want to, just like when they do want to, you can’t stop them.

girls and swim suits

1. How cute is this little girl?
2. How cute is the second girl?
3. Wouldn't it be great if we could just stay cute like we were when we were little and didn't have to worry about getting older and trying to look like the second picture?
4. Below...my goal
5. Super excited to go to Lake Powell this weekend and live in a bathing suit even if I don't look like her!

My Dogs

My poor little Tika has been in the puppy hospital for the weekend because she was throwing up all her food and water and couldn't eat or drink anything. Apparently after a bunch of tests and being hooked up to an iv, they think she had pancreatitis...but they're hoping that's all it was. I would be so sad if it was something else! They think she is going to be ok, so I'm crossing my fingers! My Dad finally brought her home on Monday.

This is the little chunk herself, with me this last Christmas.
This is her and her half sister, Roxy. They were born at the same time and we took they home the same day. They had the same dad, but different mothers. We've had them since I was 14 I think?
Last Fourth of July, while my family was in Utah visiting, Roxy got scared by the fireworks and got out somehow. No one ever found her :(. We never found out what happened to her. Saddest day of my life! She was my puppy!
She was my little skinny girl! Miss her! (That's Tika peeking out in the background)
And this big boy is Kahuna. I'm pretty sure he is 15 now, because we got him when Taylor was about 1. He is the sweetest and most gentle dog ever. He has cancer on his legs :( but he still just prances around and hangs out all day and is still happy to be around. I'll be sad when he's gone.

Nursing Interview

So tomorrow I have my interview for nursing school at Westminster. That is my number one choice for schools, so I'm a little nervous. I actually feel pretty good about it, but I think you always get nervous when it's something that important! So anyway, I've been getting my application together for the past couple weeks and that's why I've been in school again. I picked out my outfit tonight (of course) and I think I'm all ready!
Wish me luck!

Blue Valentine

"I feel like men are more romantic than women. When we get married we marry, like, one girl, ‘cause we’re resistant the whole way until we meet one girl and we think, ‘I’d be an idiot if I didn’t marry this girl she’s so great’. But it seems like girls get to a place where they just kinda pick the best option… ‘Oh he’s got a good job.’ I mean they spend their whole life looking for Prince Charming and then they marry the guy who’s got a good job and is gonna stick around."

Ryan Gosling in Blue Valentine

I just watched this movie. It was so sad and depressing, but I liked something about it at the same time. I think it's the real life aspect. Kind of the same reason that I like "The Last Kiss" and "The Breakup", except there really aren't any funny parts in this one. It just shows what real life is. How some parts can be so great, and then sometimes it's just so hard. Same with a relationship. How they can take two beautiful people and make them look so ordinary. This movie would not be for everyone. Jake hated it. Just makes you think a lot. I hope that if I find someone that I'm crazy about we can make things work and stay together. I hope that my life works out and I'm happy :).

Girls Night Out

Last weekend, Janell and I attended an organized "Girls Night Out" at Pierpont Place up in Salt Lake. It was actually really fun. They had food, dancing, a raffle, and then things like manicures, pedicures, henna, feather extensions, etc. Janell and I both won things and then just hung out with all these random people all night. There were quite a few "older" women having the time of their lives on the dance floor. (I wish I had video).
However, I got into a conversation with one lady who kept telling me how beautiful we were and not to throw it away, but she did give me some advice that I thought about for a while. She was telling me to enjoy my youth and not waste it etc, but the thing that stuck out to me was when she said if she could tell me anything it was, to "Be Choosey". I feel like this probably is a very good thing to remember. I guess it just made me think a lot lately because I am making some big decisions about school and dating and etc. I feel like this is the time in my life where it is important for me to be choosey more than any other time, because this is the time in my life where I can be a little bit selfish and make sure that I get the things that I need for me. I just want to be happy and have a good life :)
I always recommend a good girls night out.

"Truths for Mature Humans"

I thought this was pretty funny. Most of these things have gone through my mind at one point or another.

13. I'm always slightly terrified when I exit out of Word and it asks me if I want to save any changes to my ten-page technical report that I swear I did not make any changes to.
14. "Do not machine wash or tumble dry" means I will never wash this - ever.
15. I hate when I just miss a call by the last ring (Hello? Hello? **** it) but when I immediately call back, it rings nine times and goes to voice mail. What did you do after I didn't answer? Drop the phone and run away?

31. Sometimes I'll look down at my watch 3 consecutive times and still not know what time it is.
32. Even under ideal conditions people have trouble locating their car keys in a pocket, finding their cell phone, and pinning the Tail on the Donkey - but I'd be my *** everyone can find and push the snooze button from 3 feet away, in about 1.7 seconds, eyes closed, first time, every time.
